Ok, we know you like to be in the know, to be the up on stuff. Well one way of staying one step ahead is to know just what events are coming up. Yes, E3, GDC, TGS, these are just some of the events in the gaming calendar where good stuff happens.
So, to allow you to see what's coming up, we've added a little "Events" feature to the site. Wowee! Click on the "Events" tab at the top of the screen to see a list of what's coming up in the coming months.
Yes, we admit it, it's…

Hi everyone. Meet Bob. He's a games developer. He loves his job. Hey, he gets to make games for a living, what could be better? Bob's just recently finished a game that he and the guys had been working on for over two years. Bob's pretty shagged - the last 3 months have been back to back 16 hour days - but he's kinda happy still. Hey, so what if all the hours he put in meant his girlfriend left him. So what if he looks gaunt, almost transparent... he did it! Yes, he created a game which…

If you can tear yourself away from the games Santa dropped off yesterday, then you might just want to watch this weekend's episode, where we review the first games of 2010, including Bayonetta and Darksiders. Both have crept in under the radar yet deliver a surprising palyload of gaming pleasure, albeit largely in black and white. Also we preview Dante's Inferno and take a look back at some of 2009's highlights... cue montage!

Yes, it's that time of year, when we spend too much, drink too much and receive far too little. It's also when we stop to ponder just what the next 12 months will have in store. Redundancy? Being dumped? Yep! But also some stellar games. Ah, that's alright then!
Yes, it's time for the world's favourite weekly TV show about games to choose its Top 10 Games That Will Rock in 2010.
Better still, you can watch the full episode on…

Well there's always one thing that a top ten chart guarantees... and that's debate. And that's just what our Top Ten Games That Will Rock 2010 has provoked. But it seems that certain games in the chart have come in for some serious stick. Not surprisingly, LEGO Harry Potter seems to have received the most scorn. Not only is it a game based on a movie, which means it must be crap! But worse than that... it's a movie that features Daniel Radcliffe. So yes, we were completely wrong... to feature a…

Ok, now that Avatar is on release more of the team have been to see it and... well, the initial reaction may have been a little askew. Yes, those members of the Playr team that attended the World Premier reported that the visual effects were staggering but the story was a bit pooh! Mmm! Well, I think it would be fair to say that's not the opinion of others who've been to see it since and felt that the story was in actual fact... shock... pretty darn compelling too. Yes, after a massive…

Discovered a strange tidbit of trivia yesterday. Turns out that the studio where we record the voice-over for the show is also the place where they recorded Big Sister's vocal performance for Bioshock 2. So quick as a flash, I bought the sound engineer a pack of liquorice in the desperate the hope it would loosen his tongue. Unfortunately, it just turned it black. Damn!

Apparently 2009 is just about to come to an end. So to mark the year's passing and its annual regeneration (rumour has it will return on January 1st as 2010... I don't believe it myself) we've pulled together a special episode rounding up the best games out in the next 12 months. Yes, welcome to The Top Ten Games That Will Rock In 2010. Catchy, eh? For a sneak peek of what didn't make it in go

I've downloaded a few demos now, GoW, Jak & Daxter and Monster Hunter, the cat in MH cracks me up with it's constant wailing.
They really show just how different in many ways the PSP is with regards to gameplay.
It takes a bit of getting used to and I really don't like the small analogue stick although no doubt it'll grow on me . . .
I find the small screen difficult to adjust to and have not yet got that hang of scanning around but like everything else that will come as…

After a lousy year on the home front I decided that I needed a special present as a treat this chrimbo to lift my spirits so after checking the bank account settled not on a new slimline PS3 [already got the 60gb old style one], already got a PS2 and XBox Elite so thought how's about a PSP ?
I've had it 3 days so far and am really impressed.
I can play games and do everything I can do on all my other consoles with the exception that I can't take them out with me.
With my…

Yes, we were in Leicester Square last night, rubbing shoulders with Jim and Sigourney at the world premier of Avatar the movie. We even put a suit on especially. Mum was very proud! Anyway, the movie. Well, ten out of ten for visual effects. But story? Mmm!

if I was a betting man I might place a small wager on this weekend's episode including just some of the following... MAG: just how can 256 people play together in one shoot-out?... Zelda: Spirit Tracks our review. Mmm, what else? How about a massive preview of a Wii game that isn't just a collection of mini-games. What could it be? Oh and we go all Miss Marple with the new murder mystery game from the guys behind Buzz. And maybe other stuff too.

Yep, the original Kane & Lynch was a big disappointment to say the least - even though it was nominated for game of the year at the Bafta Games awards (I think that says more about the dodginess of those awards than the game). It played like a dog. Featured some thoroughly unlikeable characters. Oh then there was that scandal over Eidos, its publisher, attempting to fix review scores. Mmm, not good. So expectations for the sequel are not surprisingly just a little bit low. Well today we had…

For some strange reason I wasn't really looking forward to playing Zelda: Spirit Tracks. I'm not sure why. I loved Phantom Hourglass! Maybe it ws because I felt like I'd been there done that. Maybe after playing a string of the year's 360/PS3 belters I thought it would be a bit of a comedown. Dope! I shouldn't a worried. After five minutes - when I first took control of Link's new train, to be precise - I was totally hooked. Tickets, please!

I have just finished the fantastic Uncharted 2 and I have just got to say that it is one of the greatest games made to date. The graphics are 1st class as is the story. The controls and character animation and voice acting is some of the best i've seen and heard. Took me 11 hours and I haven't tried to find all treasures as I have only rented it. Thought I would give this game some praise on here as it deserves it and anyone who hasn't played or bought this should do so when seeking their next…
